Conditions were a bit chilly. 51 degrees winds starting W 10mph changing to NW 12-17 mph with on and of rain. Sun came out for a bit to show off its partial eclipse. Then faded into rain. Had to take jacket off/on/off.
Why did I want to do the record? I was hit by a car 2 years ago and haven’t been able to ride the same sense…until the last few months and wanted to celebrate the ability to do hard things even when things are hard.
Equipment: QR TT bike, Zip 808s, Custom fit by Mike Irwin.
Eat and Drink: Honey Stingers, LMNT, Coke, Maurteen Bars, Huma Gells, Cliff Bar.
What was the best part; Discovering a different level of self respect and in being human.
Hardest Part: Body and mind were very strained going in.
Did anything particularly unusual happen: stray super friendly dog scared the locals in the hotel room prior to. My route didn’t load so I had to have the crew honk to tell me which direction to go.
