At the end of last year, when the Board approved changes to the World Cup and Ultra Cup calculations to take into account the average speed across a specific set of race distances, there was significant feedback concerning participation in a large proportion of  events on the Calendar which would no longer accumulate Cup "points". This was also noted by the Calendar Team, who had spent many months compiling the huge selection of events on the Calendar and were disappointed to think that their efforts, and the efforts of all of the members racing in ultracycling disciplines outside of Centuries, [...]

Due to emails advising of membership renewal dates being trapped in spam filters, several people have contacted the board to inform us that they unintentionally missed renewing before the Sebring races this year. We remind members that it is their responsibility to verify their membership status before racing, so that results can be accepted into the competitions without question. As has always been the case, the membership year runs to the end of December and all members set up on the new website were emailed reminders accordingly in December. Dear WUCA members, The WUCA Board would first like to thank you all for being active members of the great and international sport of ultra-marathon cycling. Secondly for nominating members you know and trust to serve on the Board in 2017 and being patient whilst we collected personal statements during the busy holiday period. In total we received 15 total nominations for the 9 open Board positions. 3 names were rejected due to cause. Rejection was not done lightly, we assure you. A big congratulations to all the competitors who took on races in their specialist distances. Announcing the age group winners and overall champions in the WUCA 24 hour, 12 hour, 6 hour and 500 mile series...  

The results have been compiled and standings calculated for the final time in 2016. Announcing the WUCA World Cup of Ultracycling Champions for 2016... Congratulations to everyone who competed across 4 continents, 60 events, distances from 100 to 3049 miles, in multiple age categories on standard, recumbent and tandem bikes and with hpvs. With thanks to the results team, who have spent many hours trawling online results for WUCA members, answering queries and correcting data!
