“This record attempt was about doing what passionate me the most, riding the fastest as possible for hours. As a professional long distance triathlete I train a lot of hours on the road in the most aerodynamic position I can. I was thus already well trained for this attempt but I had to adapt to new constraints of the track. Centrifugal force compresses us towards the track in every turn, amplifying the discomfort due to the aero position.

Fuelling and hydration was also a challenge, I had more than 5 liters of sugary drink on the bike and it was just enough.

Back pain started pretty soon, followed by shoulders, neck, arms. Maybe the concentration needed to keep the trajectory on the track distracted me somehow. Time passed really slowly for the first 3 hours and felt faster towards the end despite the increased pain. The encouragements from my loved ones helped me stay concentrated and motivated and it was only around 5.5 hours in that I knew I would make it.

This attempt was financed by my relatives, thanks to everyone that participated in my crowdfunding campaign, it wouldn’t have been possible without you.

I also would like to thank everyone that came for cheering.

Most importantly my crew Jade and Rosalie who were involved since the beginning of my project. They were the entire time on radio communication with me, giving informations about speed, time, reminding me to drink, etc.

The officials, Juan for the electronic timing, Alex and Daniel for the manual backup lap counting.

Veloservice Genève for all the work on the bike.

KetoneAid for the helpful products leading to the attempt. Cyclingceramic for the bottom bracket and rear derailleur cage. “
