Jerry Schemmel Colorado W-E

2017-09-20T15:44:05-07:00

I started the race early morning, August 31, 2017, at exactly 4:20 AM. The start location was Highway 6/50, at the Colorado border with Utah. Approximately 30 miles west of Grand Junction, Colorado Other than darkness, the conditions were perfect. I believe upper 60s for temperature and clear skies. I attempted to break the overall record for this race for two reasons. Number one, as a fundraiser for a veterans charity called Paws For Purple Hearts. And secondly, to test myself and push myself to some limits. I felt like the overall record was doable but I came up just [...]

Marko Baloh 24 Hour

2017-08-31T00:48:31-07:00

When I was standing on the startline of my first 24 hours on the bike eight years ago, I couldn't have imagined what will I be doing eight years later. On 9th-10th September 2000 I set the RAAM qualification and the Slovenian record at that time of 753km. In the meantime there came three solo RAAMs and one RAAM in two person team (a victory this year with my friend Tomaz), a few more victories in ultracycling races and lots of records. My progression in this years was huge and in the last years one of my greatest goals was [...]
