- What were conditions like? – Varying weather conditions. Chill in the morning, hot in the forenoon and again chill in the night. Temperature varying from 22 deg to 36 deg. Sky was clear and sunny in the morning. Due to nearby sea, it is always hot, humid and salty weather. Head winds in the evening and chill in the night. Increased traffic in in the morning and in the evening. Regular police checks.
- Why did you want to do a record? – To challenge ourselves and to get a remarkable family record. It’s a special record due to the participation by the whole family. First time a whole family with minor daughters attempted this record
- What equipment did you use? Anything special? – Single speed steel frame based regular cycle, jersey, track pant, water bottle, Garmin watches
- What did you eat & drink? – Regular south Indian dish, water, and fruits.
- What was the best part? Each and every moment of the ride was best. We enjoyed fully and tried our best with all efforts. The whole family encouraged each other, all of us riding in our own rhythm and finally the happy finishing moment. Many more, all will be in our memory throughout my life.
- What was the hardest part? – 142 loops need mental toughness. Physically tough situation can be managed with rest but mentally it is very very hard to keep moving.
- Did anything particularly unusual happen? – Varying temperature from hot to chill weather and weekend sudden increase in the traffic in the evening as the nearby beach is a tourist spot. Opening a new bus terminus in the island ground led to movement of many vehicles.
