Rider’s Narrative:

Konner Wisniewski and Ryan Collins set out to attempt five world records in a single ride. The primary objective was to break the fastest 200-mile record on an outdoor velodrome using standard road bikes. In the process, they also targeted the 100 km, 100 mile, 200 km, and the six-hour distance records, ultimately pursuing all five marks during the same effort.

The attempt took place on March 15, 2026, beginning at 5:12 AM at the San Diego Velodrome in Balboa Park.

Conditions at the start were cool, with temperatures in the mid-50s°F, dipping slightly before sunrise. As the morning progressed and the sun came out, temperatures gradually climbed to around 70°F by midday, with winds increasing to approximately 5 mph.

This ride was undertaken not only to challenge these records but also to raise awareness and support fundraising efforts for the San Diego Velo Youth Charity, helping expand opportunities for youth cycling and after-school programs in the San Diego community.

Both riders used standard road time trial setups. Konner rode a Specialized Shiv time trial bike, while Ryan rode a Factor Hanzo time trial bike.

Nutritional strategies varied slightly between riders but relied primarily on electrolyte hydration and carbohydrate gels throughout the effort.

The most memorable moment of the day was the euphoria of completing the ride and realizing the records had been achieved. The most difficult portion of the effort came during the final 30 minutes, when fatigue was at its peak and maintaining pace required maximum focus and determination.

Aside from the successful outcome of breaking all five targeted world records, the ride proceeded smoothly without any unusual incidents.

The attempt concluded at the San Diego Velodrome at approximately 12:47 PM
