- I wanted to complete the record as a personal challenge and to encourage my children to be resilient.
- I utilized aerobars on my Cannondale Synapse
- I ate Uncrustables peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, Clif Bloks energy chews, mandarin oranges, and muffins. I drank Powerade and Gatorade.
- The best part were the rolling hills in Northern Nebraska in between Yankton and Norfolk. The clouds, lighting, and panoramic views were gorgeous. I also enjoyed seeing my 3 kids who were cheering me on in York, NE.
- The hardest part was a stretch of highway 81 from Shelby, NE to Osceola, NE. I was enduring gusty cross winds and got behind on electrolyte replacement and had severe leg cramps.
- Overall, the ride was straightforward, and the route was easy to follow.
