Start from Casere on my Rowa bike (standard carbon bicycle with appendices on the handlebars) with fresh temperature and a slight rain that does not cause any problems. The miles pass quickly and, when I arrived in Rimini (close to home, where I expect so many friends), I have an average of 30 km/k! During the night I need a micro sleep of 15 minutes, followed by another on Sunday in the early afternoon, always 15 minutes.
On the Adriatic Coast the wind was generally opposite.
During the Record Attempt I ate pasta, fruit, sandwiches and supplements such as BCAA, mineral salts and maltodextrins.
Going to south the temperatures increase, but luckily they are not excessive as they would be in July. On Sunday night I slept about 2 hours, then I pedal all night until Palizzi Marina, where I arrived in the late afternoon of Monday. On Jonic Coast the wind was friendly. My goal was to beat the N-S record in the Over 50 category, so the fact to beat the absolute N-S record was a huge joy for me.

For the S-N record attempt, considering the existing records, we decide to split the route in stages of about 400 km, with the possibility of giving me and the crew a few hours of rest at night. In this way, I should complete between 82 and 88 hours.
After a nice rest, we leave from Palizzi Marina on tuesday morning, retracing the State Street 106 Jonica in the opposite direction from the previous day. The wind that yesterday was friendly, today is opposite. The first day ends near Matera, where the entire caravan stops. On Wednesday, I face the toughest time of all this adventure: the State Street 655 “Brandanica” crossing a nearly desert territory, where in just over 100 km of road there is only one service area. The heat touches the 40 °C, besides the car that follows me constantly, I ask the RV to stay close to give me psychological comfort. Overcoming these hours, arriving near Foggia, I understand that from that moment nothing would stop me until the goal of Casere. The day ends in Giulianova.
On Thursday there is the passage in my lands: in Riccione I met surprisingly my father (I cried) and in Rimini at the Rowa bicycle shop (my sponsor) so many friends are waiting to greet me. Short stop and head towards Chioggia where we stop for the night.
Friday, now the finish is near, about 300 km. I’m fine, and after a first stretch of plain, the Alps begin. The mountain is not my favorite land, but I face it serenely. In Cortina d’Ampezzo it rains and near Brunico diluves. There is no problem, missing little on arrival. During the last mile I think of all this experience and the people who helped me to get this great achievement.
