📍 About Mana Pass
Mana Pass (5632 m / 18,478 ft) lies on the India–Tibet border in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand.
It is among the highest motorable passes in the world and was historically a key trade route between India and Tibet.
Today, it remains a strategically important zone under the control of the Indian Army and the Border Roads Organisation (BRO).

Mana Pass MTB Rally Events
The Himalayan High Altitude MTB Rally (Mana Pass to Badrinath) is organized annually.
Organizers: Ski Mountaineering Association of Uttarakhand (SKIMO ). Ajay Bhatt is the founder
Route: ~51 km downhill ride from Mana Pass/Deo Tal to Badrinath, passing through iconic locations like Vasudhara Falls and Mana Village.
📜 Event Timeline & Highlights
2022 – The Beginning
The first-ever Mana Pass MTB Rally was successfully organized.
Limited participants but it marked the start of a historic tradition.
2023 – Growing Participation
The rally attracted more riders and recognition at the state level.
2024 – A Historic Edition
On 27 September 2024, the rally witnessed a record 140 bikers and cyclists, including teams from the Indian Army, SSB, and ITBP.
This became the largest participation record so far.
The event was officially entered in the India Book of Records.
2025 – The Upcoming Rally
Scheduled from 25–27 September 2025 at an altitude of 5632 m.
Mana Pass is the third-highest pass in the world where an MTB rally is organized.
🏆 Significance & Recognition
The rally is not just a cycling event but a blend of endurance, adventure, military spirit, and cultural pride.
Participation includes Indian Army, ITBP, CRPF, and athletes from different states of India.
The Mana Pass MTB Rally is now regarded as one of India’s toughest and most prestigious high-altitude MTB challenges.
