Challenging endurance cyclists to excel!
UMCA Indoor Challenge
Overview And Rules
Too cold, snowy, icy, or rainy to ride outside? Not enough snow to cross country ski? Then take the indoor challenge!
The Indoor Challenge is a low-key winter fitness challenge. It is intended to be a fun way to motivate those who live in climates where the winter weather can at times be inhospitable for outdoor cycling. Of course any UMCA member inany climate can participate in the challenge. Riders track each of their indoor rides of two hours or greater and submit them for points.

The 2010 Season Challenge begins on November 1st, 2009 You may now submit your sessions on-line
Indoor Centuries
Riders participating in the UMCA Mileage Challenge Year-Rounder may ride an indoor "century" (six hours). Riders may ride up to twelve a year (viz., enough to qualify for the Larry Schwartz award). Riders must follow the rules of the Indooor Challenge. Indoor centuries are submitted in the normal way as Personal rides, or as Organized if ridden as part of an organized indoor event, publicized as per the Y-R rules.
Year-Rounder Submissions
For credit in the Indoor Challenge you must submit the ride separately to Dave Watkins.
Submit your indoor sessions on-line! Use the
Indoor Submissions Form. There you will create your own login and password account. You will be able to view all of your sessions submitted year to date, and also submit new sessions. Submitted sessions will go through a verification process before they show up on the standings page. The verification process ensures that the submission came from a valid indoor participant and not a creative individual trying to
hack the database.
Let us know what you are up to while you are cycling indoors. We will
post your stories, what equipment you use, what you watch or listen to while you
work out, or what the weather is like outside. Don't forget to fill in
the Rider Notes field when submitting your sessions on-line!
